Between June and mid-September 2026, SAILWISE partners organised local events in all partner countries. The events built on the international training in Ancona and took the SAILWISE activities to women and sailing instructors in their own communities.
What we wanted to achieve
The events had three goals:
- Test the activities. Groups of women and instructors tried out activities from the SAILWISE Toolkit and told us how practical they were. Their feedback helped us make the final selection of activities for the toolkit.
- Reach more people. The events gave women who couldn’t join the international training a chance to take part.
- Spread the word. They introduced SAILWISE to local sailing communities.
Where the events took place
- Austria: Vienna and the south of Austria
- Cyprus: Larnaca
- Poland: Krakow
- Italy: Ancona
- Slovakia: on the water during a sailing trip in Croatia
Results
More than 120 women took part across the partner countries. Many of the activities tested were later included in the final SAILWISE Toolkit. The feedback was very positive: participants enjoyed the activities, and we had a lot of fun at the events too.
