On 27.-28. July we organised an overnight hiking trip to the Fischbach Alps with a group of 13 hikers!

On Saturday, the group started from Spital am Semmering with a plan to cover 18 km until reaching the final destination in Ganzalmhaus mountain hut. On the following day, hikers started their trip by stopping at the highest peak Stuhleck (1,782 m) and then descending back to Spital am Semmering with a total of 17 km.

This group of experienced hikers completed a 2-day hike covering approximately 35 kilometers with an elevation gain surpassing 1,000 meters. The carefully selected route offered stunning views, rich natural surroundings, and a manageable terrain, ensuring that all participants could successfully complete the hike. The experience left the hikers feeling both accomplished and invigorated by the breathtaking scenery and the physical challenge.

Discovering hiking infrastructure

One of the primary objectives of the hike was to assess the hiking infrastructure, focusing on the accessibility of the trails and the mountain hut where our group stayed overnight. This provided a valuable opportunity to compare the expectations of both men and women, examining how inclusive the facilities were for women and how the needs of both genders differ during a hike. Ultimately, thanks to the professional approach of our guides and the warm hospitality at the Ganzalmhaus mountain hut, the entire group had an unforgettable experience and successfully completed this challenging yet rewarding trip.
