Call for Participants

Become an Ambassador. Shape digital citizenship. Represent Austria.
We are looking for 2–3 motivated young volunteers to represent our organization as PRISMA Ambassadors — a national and international programme empowering youth to lead on digital citizenship, from local campaigns to a European summit.
What is the PRISMA Ambassadors Programme?
The programme runs from August to November and brings together young people from across Europe to design and deliver activities around digital citizenship, culminating in a European-level summit in Bucharest. Ambassadors will:
- Take part in a preparatory Youth Exchange in Slovakia (team-building and activity planning — highly recommended, not mandatory)
- Organize and run #EDCEWeek26, a digital citizenship campaign featuring one physical and one online activity
- Create original content (reels, social posts) on digital citizenship themes
- Contribute feedback to the campaign’s impact report
- Represent our organization at #EDYS26, the EDYS Summit in Bucharest (end of November)
Costs Covered: All costs for the Slovakia mobility and the Bucharest summit are fully covered by the organisers, including accommodation, programme activities, meals, and transportation (reimbursed). No participation fee is required for the Ambassador role itself.
What You’ll Learn & Gain
Volunteer Certificate: Official recognition of tasks completed and total hours contributed — perfect for your CV, university applications, or professional portfolio.
Alumni Network: Join the PRISMA Alumni Network and gain opportunities to represent the organisation at future European events in cities like Brussels and Strasbourg.
Travel & Growth: Explore Europe, meet inspiring young people from 7 countries, and discover potential career paths in the NGO and European affairs sector.
Skill Development: Gain hands-on experience in campaign management, social media content creation, event planning, team coordination, and high-level digital summit support.
Personal Impact: Contribute to meaningful European civic and digital engagement initiatives that create real change in local communities.
Who can apply?
- Youth interested in digital citizenship, community engagement, and content creation
- Applicants cannot be current staff members of our organization — this is a voluntary role
- No prior experience required — just motivation, responsibility, and willingness to collaborate as a team
What’s the time commitment?
Each ambassador is expected to contribute 120 hours across the four-month programme (August–November), roughly broken down as:
| Activity | Approx. hours |
|---|---|
| Online onboarding | 5 |
| First team activity (content creation, mid-August) | 10 |
| Ongoing team communication (WhatsApp, etc.) | 15 |
| Youth Exchange in Slovakia | 50–60 |
| Organizing #EDCEWeek26 activities (online + offline) | 30 |
| Providing feedback when asked | 3 |
| #EDYS26 Summit in Bucharest | 40 |
| Other organisational work & content creation | 20–30 |
Not able to join the Slovakia Youth Exchange? No problem – the total commitment is reduced to 90 hours.
Hours are tracked through a simple monthly report – ambassadors log tasks, dates, and time spent. This record also forms the basis for their official certificate of recognition, listing all hours completed.
Beyond the tasks, the programme is a chance to travel to Slovakia and Romania, meet young people from across Europe, build new skills, and be part of a community working together on something meaningful.
What’s mandatory vs. recommended?
Mandatory:
- Involvement in #EDCEWeek26 (1 physical + 1 online activity)
- Feedback for the campaign’s impact report
- Regular content creation (min. 2–3 posts/month)
- Participation in #EDYS26 in Bucharest
Highly recommended (not mandatory):
- The preparatory Youth Exchange in Slovakia – infopack here
Additional Activities
Team Building in Nature: Outdoor activities during the Slovakia mobility to strengthen team bonds and foster collaboration.
High-Level Summit Participation: Attend and contribute to the EDYS26 Bucharest Summit, engaging with hundreds of participants and prominent speakers in the digital and civic space.
#EDCEWeek26 Campaign: Lead and execute a pan-European digital citizenship campaign across 7 countries, gaining real experience in international project coordination.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded young Europeans, NGO professionals, and European stakeholders throughout the programme.
What support will you get?
- Guidance from a national coordinator, who acts as the link between ambassadors and PRISMA staff
- Support from our organization: help finding a venue for your activity and sharing your content on our official channels
- Regular check-ins (every two weeks) with our team
- Travel costs for the Slovakia Youth Exchange and the Bucharest Summit are reimbursed (processed through our organization)
- Participants are encouraged to hold a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), free to obtain if insured in Austria, and valid in both Romania and Slovakia
