All Crete Blue Green is an Erasmus+ Sport project promoting healthy lifestyles, well-being, inclusion and environmental awareness through physical activity in nature. The project brings together partners from across Europe to explore how outdoor sport, nature-based activities, health education and sustainability can support a more active and balanced lifestyle.

The project builds on the idea of “blue-green exercise” — activities that take place in natural environments, combining the benefits of water-based and land-based physical activity. In the context of Crete, this means connecting sport and well-being with the island’s unique natural landscape, from the sea and coastline to mountains, gorges and green spaces. All Crete Blue Green focuses on the connection between physical activity, mental well-being, nature and sustainability. The project promotes outdoor activities as a way to improve health, strengthen motivation for movement, support social connection and encourage a deeper appreciation of the natural environment.

Project activities

The project will be implemented in two main phases during the European Week of Sport.

In September 2026, the project will organise an educational conference in Crete, bringing together project partners, experts, local stakeholders and invited organisations. The conference will focus on knowledge exchange, good practices and educational workshops related to healthy lifestyles, inclusive sport, sustainability, physical activity in nature and well-being.

In 2027, the project will continue with a wider All Crete Blue Green Event, combining sport activities, workshops, community engagement and environmental actions across Crete. This second phase will put the ideas and knowledge developed during the conference into practice through inclusive blue-green activities for local communities.

Next up: Conference in Chania

Our next project activity will take place in Chania, Crete, in September 2026, where ACTIVE Austria will join the All Crete Blue Green educational conference during the European Week of Sport.

During the conference, we will take part in discussions, workshops and knowledge exchange with partners and invited experts from across Europe. ACTIVE will also share good practices from our own initiatives related to sport, inclusion, community engagement and outdoor activities.

This conference will also help prepare the next phase of the project. In 2027, ACTIVE will return to Crete to support the organisation of various sport activities for the local community, contributing our experience in inclusive and community-based sport events.
