We’re excited to announce that a group of five team members from ACTIVE Austria will soon travel to Cyprus for a week-long job-shadowing experience hosted by Active Zone Outdoor (AZO). This mobility is part of our Erasmus+ Mobility of Sport Staff project BRIDGE – Building Resources for Inclusive Disability Guidance in Exercise.
Through this opportunity, we aim to build our skills, exchange knowledge, and learn how to make our sport events more inclusive, sustainable, and accessible to people with disabilities.
What Will We Do?
Over the course of one week, we’ll:
- Shadow AZO staff in organizing outdoor sport activities like hiking, climbing, swimming, and yoga.
- Learn how to make these activities more inclusive for people with disabilities.
- Support AZO’s communication and community outreach efforts.
- Explore how they integrate eco-friendly practices into their events.
- Connect with local organizations to exchange ideas and plan future collaborations.
- Gain experience in using digital tools for event coordination and promotion.
This hands-on learning experience will help us bring new energy, ideas, and practical skills back to Austria.

Why It Matters
At ACTIVE Austria, we believe that sport should be for everyone. While we already work with migrants, young people, and individuals facing social or economic barriers, we’re committed to doing more to include people with disabilities in our activities.

Who’s Going?
Five of our staff and volunteers will join this mobility. We’ve prioritized a diverse and balanced group, including participants with fewer opportunities, and we’re all eager to grow, learn, and bring our insights back to the team.
What Comes Next?
After the mobility, we’ll meet to reflect on what we’ve learned and how we can apply it in our daily work. We’ll share key takeaways across our channels, and each participant will have the chance to present their experience and ideas for new inclusive and sustainable initiatives.
We’re also planning to stay connected with our partners at AZO and continue building on this collaboration through follow-up activities and shared projects.
💬 This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme and reflects our shared values of inclusion, sustainability, and learning through sport.
