About Us
ACTIVE Austria is a Vienna-based non-profit association promoting active living, sport-based non-formal education, and youth participation through European projects and community events. We run Erasmus+ Sport, youth exchange, and outdoor education programmes in partnership with a broad network of EU organisations. Our projects connect people through sport, movement, and meaningful non-formal learning experiences.
Position Details
- Contract: Fixed-term, part-time — as soon as possible until 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension
- Working hours: 16 hours/week (based on 35-hour full-time equivalent)
- Location: Vienna, with remote flexibility. Occasional EU travel required (approx. 3–4 day trips every two months)
- Minimum salary: €1,050 gross/month for 16h/week.
- Additional payments: 13th salary (holiday bonus, June) and 14th salary (Christmas bonus, November) as per KV
What You Will Do
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of EU-funded projects and outdoor community events (hiking, walking, cycling, and similar activities)
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, training sessions, seminars, and international project meetings
- Communicate and collaborate with partner organisations across the EU
- Monitor project progress, support preparation of reports, and track objectives and deliverables
- Manage social media channels and produce promotional and informational content
- Assist with project-related administrative tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and financial tracking
- Collect and analyse participant feedback to support project evaluation
What We Are Looking For
- German at native or C1 level — written and spoken (required)
- English at B2 level or above — written and spoken (required)
- Based in Vienna or able to commute for in-person activities (required)
- Experience or genuine interest in project coordination, event organisation
- Proactive working style with strong organisational and time-management skills
- Comfortable with digital tools: social media platforms, MS Office, and ideally Canva, Trello, Menti, Mailchimp or similar
Nice to Have
- Personal interest in sport, outdoor activities, or alignment with ACTIVE Austria’s mission
- Experience with travel booking or EU project administration
- Willingness to learn new tools and working methods independently

Hiring process
Our hiring process reflects our values. It includes a short online task, participation as a Festival Team Assistant at the U-PLAYS Festival on 4 July in Vienna, and a final interview.
