The European Citizenship Academy Seminar is a unique opportunity for youth workers from across Europe to come together, learn, exchange, and grow—both professionally and personally.

This seminar is designed to strengthen the role of youth work in building active European citizenship. Through interactive sessions, role play, discussions, and collaborative activities, participants will explore what it means to be an informed citizen in today’s Europe.

The ECA Seminar is part of the LEMON network (Learning Europe through Mobility and Opportunities Network), which creates long-term projects to maximise impact and continually develop youth work across Europe.

The seminar aims to:

  • Contribute to a deeper knowledge and understanding of the EU among young people
  • Facilitate and strengthen youth participation as informed citizens
  • Support youth workers in educating young people about Europe
  • Initiate sustainable partnerships between organisations working on European education
  • Produce clear, relevant, and youth-friendly information to encourage civic engagement

By investing in peer education, this seminar will add value to youth work and enhance the impact youth workers can have in shaping the future of Europe.

The seminar takes place in Hendaye, a picturesque town on the Basque coast, right on the French–Spanish border. Known for its sandy beaches, surf culture, and iconic Château Abbadia, Hendaye offers the perfect mix of seaside charm and cultural richness.
